Why are there so many Cafes?
Published 1 year, 9 months ago in Where I Live.Just a quick pondering about the amount of Cafes?
Why are they so popular? Don’t people mind the traffic smog, whilst they are drinking coffee out in the street?
Is it possible that one could read the local paper, drink coffee,
eat a crappy cake and become a superstar overnight, or is that just fantasy?

Not where I live. We need more cafe especially after 6pm.
by the way, I live in Carnegie in Victoria
Not all cafes are about drinking overpriced coffee on a smoggy, chewing-gum covered footpath somewhere with no parking…
There are really some good cafes, the small non-flashy ones that aren’t on trendy shopping strips. They’re the ones with the good value, friendly service and good quality food and drink.
I think people like cafes because they’re a good place to meet up with friends. When you don’t want to go out for a whole lunch or dinner, you go out for a coffee and cake. I personally think they’re a great idea, because if you don’t like them, you don’t have to go.
To ahhhhh,
If you need more cafes, you should go to your local council and tell them.
But gee whiz, Mordialloc could give you some.
If I was a politician I’d fix it in a jiffy.
Thanks for the reply.
To Lady Chaos,
I totally so agree with you. But you see, I was just being funny.
Kind of.
Melbourne has a very decent number of footpath cafes. You should count yourself lucky IMO. It’s all a matter of getting out there in the community, if you wish, rather than being stuck in an electricly lit isolated corner. Viva la ‘fresco!
